Studio terms
Version 2026-10-18-r14. You accept these when you approve a scope.
In short
- • One fixed custom-product price includes strategy, UX/UI, engineering, QA, launch, a 30-day warranty and 1 UX revision round.
- • The approved scope names the feature, page/screen, platform and integration limits; changes receive an estimate before work starts.
- • After launch, an optional monthly plan with no minimum term. Cancel any month.
- • Your accounts are yours from day one and the work is yours as you pay for it (on the starter, the app is ours until you buy it).
- • Free handover whenever you take it in-house, and a 30-day warranty on what we ship.
- • Timelines run to release, or to app store submission: Apple and Google decide approval. If we’re waiting on you, the date moves.
- • If we miss the launch date, your first month on a plan is free.
- • Can’t buy a Store app up front? Starter lets you launch it for $500/mo, start earning, and buy the app when you’re ready.
- • Store apps are built to order and sold by Ottomind: own 100%, or 80% with us keeping a non-voting share.
01100 Studio clients, in total
Studio accepts a lifetime total of 100 client workspaces for custom work, including selected free builds. We count a workspace once, when its first custom Studio project is created or its free build is selected. Additional projects in that workspace do not use another place. Store-only purchases and Finome partnerships are separate.
After all 100 places are taken, we permanently stop accepting new Studio clients. Completing, cancelling or handing over a project does not reopen a place. Existing clients retain their projects and can request additional work, subject to project capacity and an agreed scope.
Submitting a brief, joining the project waitlist or applying for a free build does not reserve a client place. Acceptance requires an available place. An October campaign reservation locks its advertised price; it does not override this overall client limit. Existing accepted projects continue under their agreed terms.
02How an engagement works
These terms are an agreement between you (or the company you act for) and Temp and Major Inc., doing business as Ottomind (“Ottomind”, “we”).
Each platform you ask us to build (web, iOS or Android) is its own project. Every product goes through the same steps: an intake and scoping call, UX/UI design, a written scope you approve, a Launch that ships v1, and then, only if you want it, a monthly plan.
Ottomind is in public beta: the service is live and these terms apply in full, and we keep improving the product. Price changes apply to new orders only.
Approving the scope in your dashboard is your order. It records which version of these terms you accepted, the fixed project price, the target launch date and the plan (if any) that starts after launch.
03Design and the included revision
UX/UI is included in the fixed project price for Studio projects. It covers user flows, wireframes, the visual design and a design system, with one UX revision round after the first design review. For a Store app it covers tailoring the existing foundation to your brand and the agreed customization scope.
Includes 1 UX revision round per product: one consolidated set of feedback on the proposed design. Additional rounds, new features, and extra pages/screens need a separately approved change estimate before work starts. Brief changes requested before acceptance do not count as the UX design revision. The written scope lists the included features and pages/screens, with their counts, for each platform. A larger brief is a request for review, not a promise that every item is included in the launch price.
Brief changes before acceptance do not use this revision allowance. Additional revision rounds, features, screens or platforms are scope changes: we send an estimate and wait for your approval before doing the work. No design deposit is due before the written scope is approved.
04Launch
The project price is fixed after scope sign-off. It covers the approved design, architecture, engineering, QA, security basics, release to production or the app stores, documentation, a recorded walkthrough and the warranty.
It is invoiced when you approve the scope and is non-refundable once work has started, except under the October offer’s money-back guarantee. Our target is v1 in production on the milestones in your scope. Larger products launch a core v1 first, and the rest of the brief continues on a monthly plan if you choose one.
Submission and approval. For iOS and Android, launch means we submit the app to the App Store or Google Play. Apple and Google review it and decide whether and when to approve it; their review time isn’t part of our timeline, and a rejection for a reason within the approved scope is fixed and resubmitted at no charge. For the web, launch means release to production.
Your part of the schedule. Timelines assume you give feedback, approvals, content and access when we ask. When we’re waiting on you, the schedule waits too: the launch date moves by the time it takes, and we tell you when it does.
05October 2026 offer
For a brief successfully submitted through the October offer through 11:59 pm Central Time on October 31, 2026, while one of the 40 campaign spots remains, the first platform’s agreed v1 build is $1,000, the October price. UX/UI design is included. The offer price replaces the standard first-platform project price above for that agreed v1 scope.
Nothing is charged at sign-up. We agree the v1 scope in writing on your scoping call; the build is invoiced when you approve that scope and is covered by the money-back guarantee below. Additional platforms are not covered by the October price: each is scoped separately at standard Studio pricing for its tier and is typically 30% below the equivalent first-platform price when it shares the core (backend and design system). Your written scope shows the exact price before you pay. Hosting, databases, APIs and app store accounts are paid separately to providers. A monthly plan is optional and is not required to claim the offer.
Your submission confirmation locks the offer price, including if your brief is waitlisted. A campaign spot reserves pricing; your project lead confirms the start and delivery dates. The warranty, ownership transfer on payment, cancellation and handover provisions in these terms also apply. If the offer closes before submission, we ask you to review standard pricing separately before proceeding.
Money-back guarantee. If the v1 we launch doesn’t do what your approved scope describes, tell us in writing within 30 days of launch. We fix it under the warranty; if we can’t, we refund the $1,000 build fee in full. On a refund, ownership of the code and deliverables doesn’t transfer: we remove our work from your accounts and you stop using it. The guarantee covers the first platform’s offer build only. It doesn’t cover running costs paid to providers, monthly plan fees, additional platforms, or changes beyond the approved scope.
06Starter program: $500 a month for Store apps
The Starter program is for clients who can’t buy a Store app up front but plan to earn from it. It costs a flat $500 a month for the Store web app (mobile add-ons are quoted separately), for up to 12 months. It is available for Store apps only; custom Studio projects are paid as set out in their approved scope. Starters that began on a custom project before October 18, 2026 continue on these terms at their agreed rate. We build and launch the app, you earn from it, and you buy it when you’re ready. It’s independent of our pricing: the price to buy the app is the Store price, the same as if you’d paid up front. You choose it at Store checkout; see the Starter program page. The first month is invoiced at sign-off and the build starts once it’s paid; the rest are invoiced monthly, each due in 14 days.
It’s a launch subscription (a rental), not a payment plan. The monthly fee lets you launch and use the app, and earn from it, while you get started. It doesn’t count toward the price. While it runs, Ottomind owns the app: the code, designs and content, and the accounts it runs on, which are in our name. The fee includes hosting and upkeep, so no monthly plan is billed.
Buy it whenever you’re ready. From your dashboard you can buy the app at any point for its price: in full, or, for a partial store stake, in monthly installments. The starter stops when you buy, the app is assigned to you as you pay for it, and we move it into your accounts through the normal handover. Any plan you chose starts then.
Ending the rental early. You can end the starter from your dashboard. It ends at the close of the current billing period, then the app is switched off and remains Ottomind’s. You can withdraw the cancellation before that period ends; the original 12-month limit still applies. An order stopped before billing starts is not invoiced. Ending the rental does not buy the app or transfer its code.
If you don’t buy it within 12 months, the starter ends, the app is switched off and it stays ours. You keep your own data: we’ll export your customer and business records for you on request within 30 days. Starter fees aren’t refunded.
07Monthly plans and cancelling
After launch you can keep us on a plan, per project, month to month:
- Care, $3,000 a month: Monitoring, updates, bug fixes and small changes. 2-business-day response.
- Team, $6,000 a month: One request in progress at a time, weekly demos, 24-hour response. Includes Care.
- Dedicated, $12,000 a month: Three requests in parallel, sprint planning, same-day response. Includes Care.
There is no minimum term. Plans are billed monthly in advance from your launch date. You can cancel any plan from your dashboard at any time; it ends at the close of the current billing month and is not refunded pro rata. Plan changes take effect on the next billing date. You can also choose no plan at all and take the project in-house at launch.
Plans buy the team’s capacity and priorities, not a fixed price for a fixed list of features. Work that changes the agreed scope goes through a change request with an estimate, and nothing changes until you accept it.
08Who owns what
Your accounts are yours from day one (except on a starter, where the app runs in our accounts until you buy it). Before launch you set up (or give us delegated access to) these accounts in your company’s name, and we work inside them:
- GitHub organization
- Cloud and hosting account
- Domain and DNS
- Apple Developer account
- Google Play Console
- Payments account
Your product is yours as you pay for it. Code, designs and content we create for your project are assigned to you when the invoice covering that work is paid. Until then you may use them, but ownership stays with us.
Our tools stay ours. We bring reusable components, libraries, templates and internal tooling that existed before your project or aren’t specific to it. We keep ownership of those and grant you a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use, modify and keep running the parts included in your product. Open-source components stay under their own licences.
09Handover
You can take a project in-house at launch or at the end of any billing month. Because everything already lives in your accounts, handover is about access and knowledge, not migration. It is included at no charge and is completed within the last month you’ve paid for (or the launch month):
- Documentation and runbooks delivered
- Recorded walkthrough of the codebase and infrastructure
- Final build released
- Store listings and infrastructure confirmed in your accounts
- Credentials rotated
- Studio access removed
If your product has more than one platform, one project owns the shared backend and design system. If you hand that project over but keep another with us, ownership of the shared core moves to the project that continues.
10Warranty and delays
Everything we deliver has a 30-day warranty from launch or handover: we fix defects in work we delivered, at no charge. The warranty doesn’t cover changes made by others, third-party outages or new features.
If a launch slips past the agreed date because of us, your first month on a plan is free. App store review time doesn’t count toward the date. If it slips because of a scope change, delayed feedback, missing access or approvals, or another dependency on your side, we’ll tell you as soon as we know and agree a new date.
11Invoices and late payment
Invoices are due within 14 days. If an invoice is more than 14 days overdue we may pause work until it’s paid; after 30 days we may end the plan. Your accounts and everything already paid for stay yours regardless. Infrastructure, app store fees and third-party services are billed to you directly by those providers.
12Buying an app from the Ottomind Store
Apps in the Ottomind Store are existing foundations we build to order. Ottomind is the seller and merchant of record for every order. We confirm the details (brand, platforms, customization and launch date) in writing and share the scope; signing it off invoices the app (or its first monthly payment), and the build starts when that’s paid. The confirmed date is in your scope.
Own 100%. Everything we build for you (code, designs, content and the accounts it runs on) is yours once the order is paid in full, with the same handover and 30-day warranty as any studio project. Our reusable tools stay ours under the perpetual licence described above.
Own 80%. You pay less and we keep a minority share in the company or product that holds the app (or, if you’d rather not share equity, the same percentage of its net revenue). You run the app and make every decision; our share carries no vote and no board seat, and doesn’t oblige you to keep us on a plan. Some apps are only offered this way. In the first 24 months you can buy our share for the difference between the 100% and 80% prices at the time of your order, where a 100% price exists; after that, at a fair value we agree together. If you sell the app or the company, our share is sold on the same terms as yours.
Paying monthly. When you own part of an app you can pay its price in monthly installments of $500 instead of one invoice, with no interest: the total is the same, and the final payment covers any remainder. The first installment is invoiced when you sign off the scope and the build starts once it’s paid; the rest are invoiced monthly, each due in 14 days. Your stake transfers to you after the final payment. A plan after launch is billed separately.
Starting at $500 a month. Any store app can instead start on the starter: $500 a month for the web app for up to 12 months, not counted toward the price, while Ottomind owns the app. Buy it at any point to own it.
Changes beyond the app as described go through a change request with an estimate. Payments are non-refundable once the build has started; the warranty covers defects in what we deliver.
13Finome: apps built free for creators
Finome projects are built with you, a creator, rather than for a fee. We design, build, launch and run the app at our cost, and you promote it to your audience. Finome projects use the same dashboard, scope sign-off and delivery process as studio projects; nothing on them is invoiced and no monthly plan is billed.
How you’re paid. You’re a brand ambassador: we pay you for your promotion services, and your deal (shown in your dashboard before you sign off) is one of these:
- Monthly fee: a fixed fee for each month you deliver the agreed promotion, for up to the agreed number of months from launch.
- Commission: a commission on each paying subscriber who comes through your own Finome link, under the app promotion terms.
The app is Ottomind’s. Brand ambassador deals don’t give you any ownership, profit share or other interest in the app or in Ottomind. Some earlier partnerships include an ownership stake instead; those are granted only under a separate signed agreement reviewed by counsel, and nothing on this site is an offer of one.
Delivered months. You log each post in your dashboard and we verify it. A month counts when we confirm you delivered that month’s agreed promotion plan, with at least one verified, disclosed post. Months without the agreed promotion don’t count: no fee is paid for them, and on stake deals they don’t vest. If there’s no verified promotion for three months in a row, either of us can end the promotion term.
Getting paid. Fees for a confirmed month are paid in the following month. We may ask for a tax form (a W-9, or a W-8BEN outside the US) before paying, and payments are made to an account in your name.
Disclosure. Every promotion must clearly disclose that you’re paid to promote the app, for example #ad or “paid partnership” (or, on a stake deal, “I co-own this app”), as the FTC’s Endorsement Guides and platform rules require. We won’t verify posts without it. Promote the app and what it does; never promote an investment in it.
Taxes. Fees and commissions are income to you, and so is a stake received for services, possibly when it’s granted or vests. Talk to a tax adviser. You’re responsible for your own taxes.
Your name and likeness. You license us to use your name, likeness and the content you supply in the app and its marketing for as long as the partnership runs. You keep ownership of your content and your brand.
Running the app. Ottomind operates the app (hosting, payments, support, updates and fixes). We don’t promise results: many apps don’t reach meaningful revenue. Any change to who owns the app is only by a separate written agreement reviewed by counsel. Accepted creators also sign a partnership agreement; where it differs from this section, the agreement applies.
14Invite credits
Every Ottomind account has a personal invite link. When someone you invite first pays toward development on a Studio project or a Store app (a launch fee, a starter month, an installment or a Store price), you earn a $250 credit.
- Your friend must be new to Ottomind and create their account through your link within 30 days of opening it. The payment must be toward development and more than $0.
- You earn one credit per friend, however many projects or apps they go on to buy. Your friend doesn’t receive a credit. Finome builds don’t count, because they’re free.
- The payment must come from your friend’s own workspace. Payments from a workspace you’re a member of don’t count.
- The credit applies to one standard project invoice on the next Studio project or Store order in a workspace you own. It cannot be stacked with a campaign discount, used for provider costs or exchanged for cash. If you have no eligible order yet, it waits until you start one.
- Credits have no cash value. They can’t be exchanged, transferred or refunded, and they don’t expire while your account is open.
- Only send your link to people you know who would welcome it. Don’t send bulk or unsolicited messages. You’re responsible for the messages you send.
- We may withhold or reverse a credit for fake, duplicate or self-referred accounts, spam, or a payment that is refunded or disputed.
- We may change or end the program at any time. Credits you’ve already earned stay on your account. You’re responsible for any taxes on credits you receive.
15Confidentiality, data and compliance
We keep your information confidential and only use it to deliver your project. We’re happy to sign your NDA.
For regulated data we agree the controls in the scope. For health data we sign a Business Associate Agreement before touching real patient data and build with synthetic data until then. We use AI tools, including our intake assistant, under agreements that don’t allow providers to train on your data.
16Showing your work
We don’t name you or show your product publicly unless you switch on portfolio permission in your project settings. You can switch it off at any time. Osokoro × Ottomind free builds, when we offer them, are the exception: their free-build terms let Ottomind showcase the app.
17Liability
Each party’s total liability under these terms is limited to the fees you paid us for the affected project in the three months before the claim, except for breaches of confidentiality, amounts you owe for work delivered, or liability that can’t be limited by law. Neither party is liable for indirect or consequential losses.
18Governing law and disputes
Governing law and the forum for disputes are to be confirmed by counsel. We’ll update this section once they are.
If something goes wrong, tell your project lead or email hello@ottomind.dev first, and we’ll try to resolve it informally.
Questions about these terms? hello@ottomind.dev. For how we handle personal data on our websites, see the privacy policy.
